Volunteers Christmas Party 2021

There was a very welcome return for our Volunteers and Friends of Surrey Heath Age Concern Christmas Party on the 8th December 2021 (last years event was cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic), the event was held at High Cross Church in Camberley.

Our volunteers are the backbone of the service we provide and our annual party is a fantastic way for us to thank all of our volunteers for all their hard work over the year and during the coronavirus pandemic.

The party was attended by approximately forty guests and current guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19 were fully observed: only one group at any given time went to the buffet table, face coverings were worn while moving around the venue and raffle prizes were delivered to the tables.

The Honourable Mayor of Surrey Heath Borough, Councillor Sarah Jane Croke attended the event, she gave a speech and took her turn to wield the enormous teapot, whilst meeting our volunteers and congratulating them for all their hard work and resilience during this difficult time.

The amazingly talented, Jen Merchant kept guests entertained with her beautiful singing voice.

There were a total of sixty four raffle prizes, from various sources, including some donated by our volunteers and guests; this year we wanted to ensure that everyone won at least one prize, the raffle raised £64 for our charity, which will help us to continue our vital work, helping elderly, vulnerable, isolated and lonely people in our community.

Some of the raffle donations are listed below:

Candles and Cleaning Products – S. C. Johnson
